NEXT ASSOCIATION MEETING
The next meeting of the North Carolina County Fire Marshal's Assocation  will be held on Thursday, August 28th @ 1:00 PM in
Winston-Salem, N.C. at the N.C. Firemen's & N.C. Fire Chief's Annual Conference.  This meeting will be a Joint Meeting of the N.C. County Fire Marshals and N.C. Fire Marshals Associations.  Room location TBA.  We hope to see you there.  Be Safe!
The Forsyth County Fire Department in conjunction with Forsyth Technical Community College and the City of King Fire Department are proud to host a one day Pyrotechnical Training class.

This class will be held at the Forsyth Technical Community College Northwest campus in King on Wednesday August 20th from 08:00AM – 05:00PM.

This course is designed around the NFPA 1123, 1124 and 1126 standards. The class gives a detailed overview of all segments of a public fireworks display. This course is to include topics that are more relevant to Fire and Safety personnel, and information that you will use when conducting a display inspection for permitting.

There will be a short classroom session with the hands-on display to follow.
The main classroom topics include but are not limited to:

• Duties and Responsibilities
• Fireworks
• Equipment
• Display Site Selection
• Display Set-up
• Chained Shells and Finales
• Display Operation
• Post Display
• Unique Venues

The live fire segment does require all attendees to hand - fire a number of smaller diameter (3" and 4") shells. The instructor will demonstrate all of the common malfunctions of display fireworks. Standard PPE required – helmet, glasses, gloves, ear plugs.

Jeff Hale has been involved with Display Fireworks for 24 years, working as an independent contract shooter for a number of the larger display companies.
Hale Artificer, Inc. became a Company in 1998, to fill a need in NC for a local, safety-oriented display business. They are now the largest display company in North Carolina, importing over 80,000 lbs of display materials each year, and providing display programs for over 100 shows annually in NC, SC and VA. Jeff Hale is Certified as a Display Operator, and Trainer through the Pyrotechnics Guild International.
